Texas athlete headed to Houston

Waller, Texas athlete Mark Hafner went ahead and ended the recruiting process with his verbal pledge.
“Mark committed to Houston the other day,” Waller assistant coach Shane Crawford said. “He just felt like it was the place for him to continue his football career.”

Crawford knows Houston got a good player, one Waller will have to work to replace next year.
“The best thing to call Mark is an athlete,” he said. “He is a pure athlete. He can do it all for us and Houston will find a place for him to help them out.”
Hafner chose the Cougars over interest from several schools.
“I know he was getting quite a bit of mail here at the school and he’d said he had gotten a lot at home too. Texas A&M, Texas Tech, TCU, SMU, Oklahoma State and Louisiana Tech were just some of them that had sent stuff here.
“I know he’s happy with his choice, so I don’t think he’ll be looking around at other schools now.”
