Texas ATH getting out-of-state attention

Plano (Texas) East athlete Chris Slater may not have landed an early in-state offer, but that hasn't stopped out-of-state programs from sending some his way.
New Mexico State was the first school to offer the 6-foot, 181-pound two-way player, but now Louisiana Lafayette and Central Florida have stepped to the plate with their offer. Slater says the offer from the Sunshine State definitely peaked his interest.

"I'm really interested in Central Florida for sure," Slater said. "I just know that they have a good program, good coaches, and they're in Orlando so I like that."
So far, Slater hasn't been sitting around the house this summer. He's been to camps at Oklahoma State, Baylor, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, and has plans to make it out to TCU, SMU, and Georgia Tech before the summer is out.
Wake Forest is also a school showing Slater interest that he seems to like at this point. The real questions is where will most schools play him?
"I've played offense in high school, but I really don't care which side of the ball I play," Slater said. "They're either recruiting me as a slot receiver like I'm playing now or a safety/bandit rover type of player. I'm comfortable with both."
Slater says that whenever the right offer comes is when he plans to make a decision.
"There really isn't a timetable right now," he said.
