After Ole Miss let Matt Luke go after the season, the Rebels were eliminated and McKinnley Jackson, the No. 1 player in Mississippi was down to Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M.
All four schools received official visits and, the one-time LSU commit kept many guessing up to the time of his announcement.
Texas A&M is the school that won out of the four-star out of Lucedale (Miss.) George County.
"Texas A&M is signing a top 10 class, they are building something great there and I am excited about it," said Jackson. "When I think about life after football, I know A&M can really set me up too.
"It is a great school with great coaches and I know they will help me on and off the field. It is a great place for me to be to help build my brand as a player."
Jackson visited other schools more than Texas A&M, but College Station has a lot to offer and he is looking forward to the opportunity he has there.
"I am ready to show everyone what Mississippi has to offer. I want to show all my potential and what I can do in the SEC. Having this opportunity means a lot, so I am excited about it."
