THE LATEST

Class of 2020 Rivals100 defensive back Bryson Washington is one of the top players in the state of Texas and the nation, but he was still waiting on in-stat program Texas A&M to join his long list of offers when the calendar flipped to October. Luckily for him, that all changed shortly after he visited College Station for the Kentucky game early in the month. Now the Aggies have jumped right into the mix for his services along with Texas and several others. Rivals.com caught up with Washington to talk about his latest offer as well as his plans for upcoming visits.

IN HIS WORDS

"Recruiting is going great right now. I'm still talking to a lot of schools and trying to figure out visits for later this year and for after the season, too. I just got the offer from Texas A&M and I am going to visit Texas, Oklahoma and USC soon."

TEXAS A&M

"They offered me a week after I went for the visit. I had been talking to the coaches and they wanted me to meet with Coach Fisher and get a chance to talk to everyone. After the visit, they hit me up later and let me know the good news. I’ve been waiting for that offer because it puts me in a better position so I can start thinking about officials and my Top 5 and stuff. I want to break things down and figure things out because I plan on committing before my senior season."

On the visit experience: "I went to the Kentucky game. It was crazy, I think they both did great, but Texas A&M pulled it out in overtime. They did a great job running the ball. Everyone as on their feet screaming in the stadium. It was a great game and an awesome experience."

On the program's play under Jimbo Fisher: "I think Coach Fisher has done a great job turning things around, they’re spreading the defensive backs around. The offense is doing well, the running backs especially. I think it’s a better offense and I like what I've seen from the defense, too."

On another visit: "I plan on being back for the LSU game."

TEXAS

"They’re a great school. I love the staff and the players and they have a great fan base. I love what they’re going to do in the 2020 class. I think it’s going to be a good year overall for the program."

Thoughts on Kaden Sterns excelling as a freshman? "He’s a great player, I think he’s done a great job in the defensive backfield. With the coaches and other players they have, I think that if they keep playing him, he and BJ Foster are going to rule the conference in the future."

On Texas playing young players: "They’re serious about playing great athletes. They want the best of the best to play and they mean business. If you can show out and do well in practice then you’ll get a chance to play and that's what every player wants in a program."
