Texas A&M gets a commitment from Rivals250 DB Josh Moten

Josh Moten was an early commitment for Penn State and then the Rivals250 defensive back out of Fort Washington (Md.) National Christian Academy decided to open up his recruitment again in mid-June. He took official visits to Texas A&M and Nebraska over the following two weekends and today, less than a month after he officially opened up his recruitment, has announced his commitment to Texas A&M.

IN HIS OWN WORDS...

"There were a lot of reasons why I picked Texas A&M but the first one was how deep into their religion they are," Moten said. "I like the relationship the coaches have with the players and how the players interact with each other. The Aggie Network is so big and I like how Aggies look after other Aggies.

"I was there for my official visit three weeks ago," he said. "Coach Mo and I are really close and we talk about a lot of different things. I think he'll be able to help me a lot. Just in the little time we've been together he's already helped me with my game."

RIVALS' REACTION...

Moten has the skillset to be a big-time cornerback but the best thing about his game is his instincts. Moten will get be a constant threat to get interceptions because he does a great job anticipating the throw and the receiver's route. He will need to fill out his frame a lot before seeing consistent time on the field but don't be surprised if he makes a big impact down the road. Texas A&M picking up yet another commitment from the east coast is also notable given their lack of history with the region. Moten and current commits Muhsin Muhammad, Fadil Diggs, and Isaiah Raikes will bring a different energy to College Station.
