Texans head to New Mexico State

New Mexico State is going to make recruiting the Dallas Metroplex an important priority and after this weekend it looks like the Aggies are doing a fine job of it.
New Mexico State first picked up a commitment from two star offensive tackle Kyle Smith of Mansfield (Texas) Summit. The 6-foot-7, 315-pounder picked the Aggies over an offer from Tulane and interest from Wyoming, TCU and UTEP.

"I just felt right," Smith said about his decision. "It's a place where I can make an impact early."
Smith is joined on the commitment list with Richland, Texas, sleeper offensive tackle Patrick Blount. Blount, who is 6-foot-6 and 285 pounds, was also looked at by SMU, Louisiana Monroe and Army.
