Texan leaning toward Pac 10

Southlake (Texas) Carroll offensive guard Sam Schwartzstein has plenty of schools chasing after him, but there's one school that seemingly has the edge for him. The 6-foot-3, 257-pounder said he's focused on one school in the Pac 10.
"There really isn't anything new going on," he said. "I'm working on my application for Stanford, and it's No. 1 for me right now. But I'm still trying to get everything done with that so far. I'm not decided yet, but it's leaning that way."

With offers also from Colorado State, Kansas, Purdue, Tulane and North Texas, why does the Cardinal stand out to him?
"Stanford has the best education in the country and their coaching staff has been great with me, helped with giving me advice and helped make me feel comfortable," he said. "I have not visited out there. It fell through. So I'm going to wait for my official before I check it out."
He's still not slammed the door on other schools, though.
"Schools that I'm still interested in are Purdue and North Texas and Kansas," he said. "North Texas has all my old coaches, and it just a very nice place to be. Kansas also has good coaches and it's in the Big 12 conference, which is appealing. Purdue offers a great education and their coaches are nice as well."
Could he have a decision sometime soon?
"I'm just feeling it as it goes," he said. "It will probably be before the season, but I'm feeling it out right now."
