Texan heading to Purdue

According to Gold & Black Illustrated, one of the top sleeper players in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex has made up his mind and is heading to the Big 10.
Defensive tackle Uche Nwaneri of Garland Naaman Forest committed to Purdue this weekend on an official visit with the Boilermakers.

"I already had it in my mind that I was coming to Purdue," said Nwaneri, who is already qualified academically. "I just wanted to take the visit and make it final."
Nwaneri also had scholarship offers from Texas A&M, Kentucky and several other major programs but was one of those players in the Metroplex that often fly in under the radar screen.
Nwaneri is a 6-foot-4, 265-pounder who runs a 5.0 in the 40-yard dash. He says he was recruited to play defensive end, but may end up at defensive tackle.
"I have good quickness around the line of scrimmage," Nwaneri said. "I run a 5.0, but I'm a lot quicker than I am fast. I use my quickness to rush the passer and I can stop the run, too."
