Biren Ealy, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver from Cy Falls High School in Texas, took his first visit this weekend. So was he impressed?
“It was great,” Ealy, who visited Arizona this weekend, said. “I really enjoyed just hanging out with the players and the coaches. I felt like a part of the team.”
Ealy’s visit included staying the night before the game with the team and also being included in team meetings before the game with his potential position coach.
“I thought they gave me a good idea of what it would all be like,” he said.
Ealy’s host was Shawn Jones, a Wildcat freshman from Houston’s North Shore High School.
Colorado is the only other school that Ealy has set a visit to – and that’s for Nov. 23 and the Buff’s Big 12 North showdown with Nebraska. Arizona and Colorado have offered scholarships.
Oklahoma, Texas and Michigan also remain involved and have been in contact with Ealy on a consistent basis.
Ealy’s team did not make the state playoffs. He says he’ll use the time to concentrate more on recruiting and on the upcoming track season. He runs the 400 meter and the sprint and mile relays and also long jumps for Cy Falls.
