Terry Wilson to Gray-Shirt

Gardena (Calif.) Serra athlete Terry Wilson tripped to Hawaii over Super Bowl weekend but came home disappointed after not receiving an offer. The Warriors have since offered Wilson the opportunity to gray-shirt and he expects to sign the paperwork later today.
Wilson, 5-11, 185 pounds is a talented two way athlete who could play receiver, cornerback or safety in college. He had early offers from Stanford and Colorado but wasn't cleared through Stanford's admissions and by the time he found out, Colorado had run out of scholarships at his position.

"He took the visit to Hawaii and thought he was going to be offered," Serra head coach Scott Altenberg said. "He was a little disappointed but kept his head up and knew things would work out. Coach (June) Jones called last Wednesday on Signing Day and called later in the week as well to say he wanted Terry to come in and enroll in January and promised he would have a scholarship for him.
"We talked to him again this week and he said he sent all the paperwork in and we should be receiving it today. So Terry will be signing there and is excited about it. I think Hawaii is a good fit and the chance to come in for the Spring is fine with him, he's just excited to be going there. He'll have an extra half year of his education paid for so that's another plus. Most freshman red-shirt anyway so this will give Terry more time to prepare and mature as well."
