Terry talks about new coach

Defensive tackle/running back Marlon Terry has had one opportunity to talk to his future coach at Pitt. What impression of Dave Wannstedt does the Akron (Oh.) Buchtel have?
"He seems like a pretty nice guy with a vision for the program," said Terry. "We didn't go into too much detail, but we talked a little bit and he said he's going to try to come visit me soon. I'm still going to Pitt so I'm glad they've got their coaching situation figured out.

"He asked me what my weight was, and I told him I was around 260. He told me he wanted to drop a few pounds so I could play with a lot of speed."
Speed seems to be the area that Wannstedt will immediately target for improvement.
"He emphasized that he wants a defense built around speed with guys flying to the football. He talked about Jason Thomas and how he tried to do that with the Dolphins. Then he went into why he took the job. First, he said it would have been really hard to turn down his alma mater. Then he made it clear that he wouldn't have taken the job if he didn't think Pitt could win a national championship."
Terry is a three-star prospect and had offers from Indiana and Akron before committing to Pitt.
