Dewey beats Truman?

Thornton Township three star ranked defensive end prospect Terrance Jamison (6-foot-3, 230 pounds) has been the target of a false rumor from other sources stating that he had made a verbal commitment on Sunday evening to Michigan State. Jamison as well as Thornton Township coach Bill Mosel now set the record straight.

"I haven't committed anywhere," Terrance Jamison said on Sunday evening. "I have no idea where this came from, but it wasn't from me or my Dad. I'm considering Michigan State, but I haven't taken any visits and I'm also considering several other schools at this point."

“I have absolutely no idea where this came from and it's totally false," Thornton head coach Bill Mosel said. “I received two calls regarding this rumor on Sunday night. One call was from you, and the other call was from the Rivals.com Michigan State site. I received no other calls from any other sources or recruiting people regarding Terrence's recruiting."

His coach doesn't know why the rumors were started.

"I called Terrance into my office on Monday morning, and I asked him flat out if he committed to any school. He told me that he hadn't committed anywhere, and I completed believe him. Terrance is a very straight-forward and honest young man, and his word is everything to him."

According to Mosel, Jamison has been drawing a ton of recruiting interest and offers this fall, yet any decision is still quite a ways off.

"Terrance has offers on the table from Iowa, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Northwestern. Both Notre Dame and Michigan have also been very interested in Terrance, but they haven't offered him just yet. I'm expecting that Terrance will decided in a few weeks where he's going to make his official visits this fall."

Mosel also talked about his standout prospect.

"Terrance had a really good year for us this season. Terrance is a lot like his older brother in that he has that frame as well as the same type of motor that Tim had when he was here at Thornton. Terrance might just have even more upside than Tim had at this point, because Tim was able to play two varsity seasons at defensive end. Terrance played offensive guard last year, and this year was his first real taste of playing the position. Terrance has a lot more to learn, yet he also has the potential to become another great player just like Tim."
