Terps, Pokes, Huskers or Nittany Lions for Leitao

Reese Leitao

THE LATEST: Jenks (Okla.) tight end Reese Leitao is getting ready for his season to start. They open up against Bixby in a couple of weeks. Leitao definitely feels ready for the season given the level effort that both he and the rest of his team put in this summer working out.

Leitao went above and beyond as well working out trying to improve his feet and his skills as a receiver. Leitao has a list of favorites settling on four schools out of a long list of offers.

IN HIS WORDS: "My summer went great! We met Monday through Friday basically every week at 6am to workout mostly just agility and lifting. I did some workouts individually mostly working on footwork and route running.

"We're young this year, but have talent. We always expect another state championship at Jenks. I am playing tight end and defensive end this year.

"I have a list of favorites. My top four is Maryland, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Penn State. I plan to take official visits during the season, but I don't have any trips set up yet."

RIVALS' REACTION: Leitao is one of the top, two-way players in the nation. Leitao could play either defensive end or tight end at the next level with his 6-foot-4 and 236-pound frame. Leitao has an interesting top four comprised on one in-state school and three Big Ten schools.

It sounds as if Nebraska may get the first for their showdown with Oregon early in September. I would expect Leitao to visit all of the school on his list and wouldn't surprise me if he took that fifth and final official visit. Interest is not going to die down for Leitao as the season goes. It's only going to grow.
