Position: Defensive end and defensive tackle
Size and speed: Wanyek is 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.87 seconds.
Statistics: Wanyek had 9.5 sacks as a junior.
Honors: All-conference as a sophomore and junior.
Favorite schools: Wanyek's favorite schools are Iowa, Pitt, Ohio State, Boston College, Syracuse and Maryland.
Skinny: Wanyek is a big, powerful defensive line prospect that has the ability to end up at end or tackle in college. Two schools stick out to him, though he's keeping an open mind.
"Maryland and Pitt definitely stick out a lot," said Wanyek. "They have shown the most interest in me and I'm sending them copies of my games so they can check me out. They have two of the best coaches in the game and I think that's important, because to win you have to have players and coaches that communicate well."
And what does he like about Iowa, Ohio State, BC and Syracuse?
"I like the atmosphere they all play in, and like the other two they have great coaches. The quality of the coaching staff in terms of how well they teach and the way they teach is the biggest factor in my mind. All those schools are somewhat near home, so distance wouldn't be a factor with any of them."
Wanyek has heard from all of his favorites, plus other schools such as Michigan, Colorado, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Indiana and Missouri.
"I plan on camping at Ohio State, Kentucky, Boston College and some more schools if I get a chance. I think I'm going to be taking an unofficial visit to Ohio State maybe at the end of April, and I'll take official trips to Kentucky and Pitt for sure."
