Terps, Jackets recruiting 2014 LB

Spencer Kleinrichert already has offers from Maryland and UMass. His stock is on the rise and other schools are getting involved.
This week the 6-foot-3, 220-pound linebacker from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha said Maryland and Georgia Tech are the two schools that have been recruiting him the hardest. Maryland has offered while the Yellow Jackets have not.

It's a near-certainty that the Terps will continue to target Kleinrichert. He's in their backyard at an important high school program and he has an offer. It's not so clear with Georgia Tech, because the coach that was recruiting him is no longer in Atlanta .
"Al Groh, their defensive coordinator, had sent me a pretty long handwritten note. I called him and left him a message. They've invited me down there."
Duke, Stanford, Penn State, Rutgers, Ohio State and several other schools have also been tracking Kleinrichert. He's not sure whether any other schools might be close to offering, however.
DeMatha is 7-1 on the season with a game against Gonzaga, one of their biggest rivals, this weekend.
"I feel like I've been playing pretty well," Kleinrichert said. "Our defense is designed so that if everyone does their job the tackle will be made somewhere. We've only allowed like 30 points all year or something like that."
