Terps high on GA athlete’s list

Brookwood, Ga. two-star fullback/outside linebacker Antonio Lamar is a player that has a chance to excel at the next level, and already has one offer from a major D-1 program. A good fall should have coaches knocking he doors down at the 6-foot-2, 240 pound athlete’s household. He runs the forty yard dash in 4.56 seconds and names his top five.
With high school and college games starting all across the country this weekend, Lamar lists Georgia, Maryland, Florida, Clemson, and Auburn as the teams to beat for his services. What is it about the schools that he likes?

Georgia is just a great atmosphere, a great town, and a good school,” Lamar commented. His dad, Fredrick Lamar, also played football for the University of Georgia, thus giving him another reason to like the Bulldogs.
Maryland has a good team and good academics,” Antonio continued with his favorites. “South Carolina has a good school, a good coaching staff, and I have heard a lot of good things about it.
Florida is a great school with a good atmosphere. It is just a good all-around program. Clemson, being close, I like the team and it is a good state. Auburn is a great school in a good football town.”
Being a Georgia native with Georgia ties, the Bulldogs are currently his leader, but so far Maryland is the only school to offer. He said, however, that Coach Brighton from Maryland is his favorite amongst college recruiters.
Lamar projects as a full qualifier with a 2.7 GPA and a 1050 on the SAT. He wants to major in pharmacy and said that will play a role in his ultimate decision.
