Terps early leader for NJ safety

Safety Brian Dillard out of Collingswood, N.J. has received interest mostly from the ACC and Big East. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder has one school that is standing out for his services.
"I'm getting mail from Boston College, Maryland and Rutgers. Recently Maryland has really been sending me a lot of mail," he said. "I'd say I'm favoring them right now. I like them because they are pretty close to home and have a nice campus there.

"I'm looking for a school that will provide me with a nice area and good academics. I want a good English program since I like writing and I'd at least like to stay on the East Coast if I can help it."
This spring Dillard plans to attend the Elite College Combine and Nike Camp at USC. He is also looking at attending senior camps at Maryland, Rutgers, Kentucky and Iowa.
Last season the safety prospect was named first team all-conference for a second year in a row after recording six interceptions.
"I have a real knack for intercepting the ball and coming up with a big play. I think it is due to my good vision," he said. "I also utilize that ability to find holes in the line and tackle players behind the line of scrimmage. I really like an aggressive defense that blitzes a lot and keeps their safeties involved."
