The Situation
As a high school quarterback that projects to another position in high school, the offseason camp circuit is very important to the recruitment of three-star Arkansas athlete Blayne Toll. That's why he made the trip to San Antonio for the All-American Combine, where he worked out at both defensive end and tight end. After an impressive performance he netted an offer from TCU, with the Horned Frogs joining Oklahoma State, Rutgers and several others on his list. With Toll gearing up for a big spring, Rivals.com caught up with him to get the latest on his recruitment.
In His Words
"Ohio State and Tennessee have been reaching out a lot more and I think they might be the next ones to offer."
On Tennessee: "I've been talking to a couple of coaches at Tennessee and I'm hoping they offer soon. That would be a big offer for me. They see me as a tight end or a defensive end. I don't have a preference, I'm a little more comfortable on defense because I play that already but I can learn tight end, too. I watched Tennessee play a few games this year and I think the staff just needs some time to get things back on track."
On Ohio State: "Ohio State told me they aren't just going to throw out a false offer, so the are going to wait a little bit and talk to me more and get to know me and come see me in the spring."
On Arkansas: "They haven't offered me yet and it's been a while since I've talked to them. They had some coaches at the state championship game and they were there while I was warming up but we're not really allowed to talk to them then."
Visit plans: "I'm going to a junior day at Tennessee on Jan. 26, that's the only thing I have set up really. LSU and Texas want me to come and I think I'm going to visit there soon but I'm not sure when."
