The Latest: It's the time of year when the guys who will likely be household names in their class get out on the road and camp and take visits in an effort to earn offers. For Chrisitian Armstrong, a lot of the offers are already there, but he's set out to prove to coaches that they made the right decision. He recent tour of schools took him to both Georgia and Tennessee, where he worked out on the field as well as visited campus. Armstrong, who also competed in the Rivals250 Underclassman Challenge presented by Under Armour on Sunday at the Georgia Dome, said both trips went well but had particular praise for the Tennessee coaches.
In His Words: "It was really good. Anytime I go up to Tennessee they always welcome me with open arms. They always keep me well-kept and that's one thing I really like about Tennessee. I worked out at the camp and it was really good being on the field with them. Coach Mahoney made sure he knew was I was doing and if I messed up on something or I need some tweaking he taught me the right techniques. He made sure I got multiple reps, he would have me go again if I messed up on something. I really enjoyed working with him and his coaching style."
Rivals Reaction: Armstrong has quickly become a hot target for several programs, including the Vols, Alabama, Georgia and Kentucky. He spent Tuesday camping at South Carolina and also has visits lined up to Clemson and Florida State this week. Expect the offers to keep rolling in for Armstrong, who already has elite size and a very intriguing skill set.
