Tennessee RB makes surprise pick

Three-star Cleveland (Tenn) running back Levonte Barber has chosen playing at home over some other interesting opportunities.

“Levonte has signed with UTC,” Cleveland coach Leon Brown said. “He had some opportunities to go to Louisville and Wake Forest and a couple of others, but he decided to cancel those visits and stay here close to his family. I just think it felt more comfortable for him, and he likes the opportunity he's been promised by the coaches at UTC.”

Barber (6-0, 195, 4.45) rushed for 1,700 yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior. He’s rated the No. 38 running back in the nation by Rivals.com.
