Tennessee QBs stock on the rise

All eyes were on Louisville Trinity’s Brian Brohm last weekend as he led his nationally-ranked Shamrocks into Nashville to take on Montgomery Bell Academy, but it was the unheralded local signal caller who may have helped his stock as much as anyone.
MBA’s Michael Fisher (6-2, 187, 4.7) continued to build on his reputation as a big-game quarterback and a rising prospect by completing 17 of 30 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns in a 17-13 win.

He displayed a strong arm, an ability to read the defense and make good decisions in the opener.
“It was a great way to start the season,” Fisher said.
Yet spoken like a consummate team leader, he added: “But you can’t really dwell on it because we’ve got another game (Friday) night. We’ve got to play better and keep improving.”
Improving is something Fisher’s stock has done in recent months. Like many other quarterbacks across the country, he’s still seeking his first scholarship offer, but it looks like that’s just a matter of time.
“I’ve been hearing quite a bit from Vanderbilt, Ole Miss and Tennessee,” he said. “I think they’re going to be watching me pretty close this season, so I’ll have a chance to show them what I can do. Tennessee invited me down there for the Fresno State game this weekend. I think I’m going to go watch that.”
LSU, where his brother plays tennis, Iowa, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama have also shown various degrees of interest through the spring and summer.
Any favorites at this time?
“No, I can’t really say I have a favorite,” Fisher said. “I need to wait and see who’s serious about me. Until then, I’ll just keep all my options open.”
As a junior, Fisher threw for 2,600 yards and 22 touchdowns in leading MBA to the D-II state championship. He earned MVP honors in the title game.
He's also a top baseball prospect as an infielder, and may be recruited and/or drafted in that sport.
Academically, he maintains a 3.2 GPA and has scored a 21 on the ACT.
