Tennessee QB mum on favorites

One of the nation’s top pro-style quarterbacks has an impressive list of scholarship offers and he might even have a favorite or two, but Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose quarterback Antonio Heffner isn’t saying.
“I’m not even really thinking about recruiting,” Heffner, ranked as the nation’s No. 15 pro-style quarterback in the nation, said. “I don’t want to say what teams I like, but honestly, I’m not even worried about recruiting until my season is over.”

Heffner did say teams like Maryland, Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia continue to pursue and call him every week. He has offers from all but UVA.
Heffner has helped his team to a 6-1 record. He’s thrown 13 touchdowns this season and has rushed for four additional scores.
“I’m a lot better than I was when I first moved over from defense after my freshman year,” Heffner said.
“I’m a lot better at reading defenses and have worked hard. I wouldn’t say I’m 100 percent better than I was, but I’m a lot better than before. I’m still not satisfied with where I’m at, too.”
