Statistics: As a junior, he passed for 2,600 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Favorite Schools: Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Alabama, LSU.
Skinny: It’s shaping up to be a good year for quarterbacks in the Volunteer State, and one of the best plays for Nashville’s Montgomery Bell Academy.
Michael Fisher (6-2, 185, 4.7) passed for 2,600 yards and 22 touchdowns as a junior in leading MBA to the Division II state championship. He threw for 246 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 41 yards and another score to earn MVP honors in the title game.
“I was at Vanderbilt for eight years, and he’s more advanced right now than a lot of the guys we had there who had been in the program a year or two,” said MBA coach Jeff Rutledge, who played quarterback in the NFL for 12 years. “He’s a real nice all-around athlete with a big arm and a good understanding of the game. He reads defenses extremely well, and he’s poised.
“This should be a big year for Michael because he’s got a lot of talent coming back around him. He’s got all his receivers back for another year in the offense.”
Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Georgia and LSU are some of the early leaders in Fisher’s recruitment, Rutledge said.
“We’ve had calls from just about everybody in this part of the country,” he said.
Are there any early favorites?
“He hasn’t really told me about anyone in particular,” Rutledge said. “I think he’s just enjoying the process. He visited a lot of places this spring – Georgia, LSU, Alabama. I think he really liked those kind of places. He’s got a brother who plays tennis at LSU and his dad was a quarterback at Vandy, so he’s got some ties to those schools.”
Fisher is also a solid student, sporting a 3.0 GPA. He is expected to be a full qualifier.
