Tennessee offers Trautwein

Tennessee was one of Phil Trautwein's favorites all along. Now that the Vols have extended a scholarship, they sit atop his list.
"I was really interested in them all along, and now that they've offered I have to put them at the top of my list," said Trautwein. "It doesn't really get any bigger than Tennessee. It's a good school with a great football program. There really isn't an atmosphere like it anywhere else in the country."

This comes a week after Trautwein list Michigan State as his top choice. The 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive tackle from Voorhees (N.J.) Eastern Regional may be leaning to the Vols, but is still considering others.
"Michigan State is still right up there," he said. "I really like what they're doing with their program. They've got a great staff and really seem to want me. Boston College is another school I like. It's right up here near home and has great academics. Virginia, Virginia Tech and Maryland are the others in my top five. Iowa hasn't been recruiting me as hard."
Is it safe to say the Vols and Spartans are the two he's most interested in?
"That's probably the case right now," said Trautwein. "The others are still places I could see myself choosing, but Tennessee and Michigan State have impressed me the most up to this point."
Trautwein has already taken an unofficial visit to Michigan State. He plans on taking officials to Boston College (Nov. 7) and Tennessee (Dec. 12).
