Quintin Williams, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker and a member of the Rivals.com
Southeast
Top 100 team, said he's tried to keep his focus on the season
instead of the recruiting process, but it's been hard to ignore the
attention.
"Just this last week or so, I've heard from LSU,
Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Miami, Illinois, Auburn, Memphis and Kentucky," he said. "I
get a lot of calls from Arkansas, probably the most. Them, Memphis, Ole Miss
and Auburn seem to have the most interest in me."
Williams has offers from Arkansas, Auburn,
Mississippi State, South Carolina, Memphis and Kentucky.
And who's on the top of Williams' list?
"I still don't know," he said. "With me, I've never
really been a big college football fan where I watch a lot on TV and that
stuff. I really don't have a favorite team or anything. I just like playing.
The only thing I can say as far as that goes is I'd like to play somewhere
in the SEC. I like Tennessee and Arkansas because they're good SEC teams
kind of close to home."
As a junior, Williams recorded 120 tackles, 18
sacks, four forced fumbles and one interception in earning all-state honors.
Through eight games of his senior season, he's having another huge year with
88 tackles and eight sacks in leading East to a 7-1 record.
