Tennessee, Florida lead way for four-star athlete

MIAMI -- Dominick Watt has two schools in mind.

The four-star wide receiver goes out of his way to make sure everyone knows it’s not a “final two” or a boiled down list, but he concedes that the pair leads his recruitment. And, at least for now, there are few other schools even in the conversation.

“Right now, it’s UF and Tennessee,” Watt said. “There are some others but those are the two for now, I think.”

The reason Watt uses the “for now” qualifier is because eof upcoming visits. The Rivals250 prospect intends to take official visits, sure, but he also has a string of unofficial trips in mind for the summer.

Dates are being ironed out on that front, but Watt has at least some destination in mind.

“I’m going to visit USF, UCF, UM and Florida in June,” he said. “I’m just trying to get around the state and take a look in June.”

The visit tour will help further shape his list of favorites. Things could change or they could be reinforced. Watt has few expectations, but he does have a list of bullet points he intends to check out. dx

“I’m judging on the environment at school, how the program is – how it’s set up to win or not,” he said.

Watt, who attends Hollywood (Fla.) McArthur High School, is ranked as the No. 42 wide receiver and No. 207 overall prospect in the class of 2018. Watt plays defensive back in addition to wideout.

RIVALS REACTION: Watt is considered a Florida lean, but the emphasis Tennessee is putting on recruiting the Sunshine State shouldn’t be ignored. The Vols have a shot here, but fending off the in-state Gators will be difficult. It’s also possible that new schools could join the fray this spring, as it seems unlikely that Watt has received his final scholarship offer.
