Tennessee FB commits

Morristown (Tenn.) West fullback/linebacker Wesley Hale will stay in the state of Tennessee to play college football.
"I committed to Middle Tennessee State," Hale said. "I did it Thursday after workouts. I called my recruiting coach Justin Watts and told him I'd like to commit and he said OK."

The 6-foot, 220-pounder received a scholarship offer from the Blue Raiders during summer camp at MTSU.
"I liked everything about it," he said. "I like the facilities and the school is only about three hours away from my house, so it's not so far away from home."
He also cited Middle Tennessee State's coaching staff, including head coach Rick Stockstill, as a big plus.
"I think (Stockstill) is a really good guy," Hale said. "That's another big reason why I chose Middle Tennessee State is that I like all of the coaches. I like coach Watts and coach Larry Kirksey, the running backs coach.
"He will be my position coach while I am there."
Hale is happy to get the decision out of the way.
"It feels good," he said. "I can just go play now."
He plans to take an official visit to Murfreesboro, but doesn't know when that will take place.
"I'm not sure yet," he said. "It will just be one Saturday after I play the night before. I guess they will let me know."
Hale has been impressive on the camp circuit this spring and summer. He posted one of the top short shuttle times at the Clemson NIKE Camp (4.16 seconds) in May and did 21 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press at a camp in Knoxville, Tenn.
He rushed for 602 yards on 80 attempts and scored nine touchdowns last year. He also had 14 tackles on special teams.
Hale is the first known commitment for the Class of 2007 for the Blue Raiders. Watts was his recruiter of record.
