Tennessee DL headed to ACC

Duke received its 16th verbal commitment for the class of 2006 football recruiting class from a prospect with a familiar, if uncommon, last name.
According to sources familiar with his recruitment, Chattanooga (Tenn.) The McCallie School defensive tacke Ifreke Okpokowuruk gave a verbal commitment to the Blue Devils on Sunday night.

The 6-foot-1, 270-pounder is the brother of Duke freshman defensive end Ayange Okpokowuruk, who signed with the Blue Devils in last year's class.
McCallie School head coach Ralph Potter says that Ifreke is one of the strongest players to ever come through his program.
"He's got great strength and explosiveness," Potter said. "He probably bench presses somewhere in the 350 (pound) range, but it's his squat numbers that are impressive. He probably squats somewhere close to 490."
Okpokowuruk was in class and unavailable for comment. The McCallie School finished 7-4 this season.
