Here are 10 players West analyst Adam Gorney will keep a close eye on this weekend:
CB Darius Allensworth, Romoland (Calif.) Heritage:
The Arizona commit was outstanding at a recent 7on7 tournament in Southern California and since then, his recruitment has taken off. Allensworth is being heavily pursued by UCLA and Colorado and the 5-foot-11, 175-pound prospect was recently offered by Wisconsin. There are going to be many talented receivers looking to prove themselves at this camp and Allensworth will need to prove again he could be a top Pac-12 recruit.
OL Sean Dowling, Fallbrook (Calif.) High:
Maybe no offensive lineman in Southern California has been talked about more than Dowling, who committed to UCLA in April, because his recruitment has blown up since his pledge. The 6-foot-6, 265-pound prospect will work out at USC in early June and he's landed offers from plenty of Pac-12 teams, as well as others. He's big, strong and tough, and this will be our first chance to see him in person this weekend.
OL Sean Harlow, San Clemente (Calif.) High:
Harlow has landed more than a dozen offers so far this offseason, and many more could be on the way with impressive performances at camps this summer. A good showing at this camp could be a springboard heading into those events. Harlow comes from a solid high school program that produced five-star offensive tackle Kyle Murphy last recruiting cycle. Harlow might not be at that level, but he's a solid prospect who could earn more offers soon.
CB Devin Holiday, San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills:
Holiday has had a fantastic spring. He has looked good at the Oakland NIKE Camp and numerous 7on7 tournaments with the B2G team. Arizona could be the frontrunner in his recruitment but Holiday won't make a decision until he goes to see the Tucson campus, probably sometime in June. San Diego State and others are showing interest in Holiday, who has great athleticism, toughness and good ball skills. A good weekend at this event could help his recruitment even more.
OL Cameron Hunt, Corona (Calif.) Centennial:
Hunt was the offensive line MVP at the Oakland NIKE Camp a few weeks ago and has proven to be one of the top players at his position in California. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound prospect is technically sound, not afraid of contact and never backs down from competition. Building off that MVP performance could help him land more offers, but things are already going well. Cal is the slight leader but Arizona State and Boise State are right there. He's waiting to see if Stanford, UCLA and USC offer this summer.
LB Cameron Judge, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian:
Judge registered 112 tackles in his junior season at one of the best programs in Southern California and he looked good at the U.S. Army National Combine as well. Judge moves well, tackles hard and is not afraid to get after it. College coaches have taken notice. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect has 15 offers from Pac-12 and SEC schools and could definitely land more.
QB Chad Kanoff, North Hollywood (Calif.) Harvard-Westlake:
Kanoff recently committed to Vanderbilt, but he's still looking to compete and that's a credit to his mentality. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound prospect threw for 2,646 yards with 28 touchdowns and five interceptions in his junior season, so he's proven he can definitely put up the numbers. Kanoff had a so-so performance at the Oakland Elite 11 but has proven to college coaches he can excel at the highest level -- and his next step could be doing it in the SEC.
RB D.J. Martin, Bakersfield (Calif.) Stockdale:
We have never seen Martin in person, but have received great reports. He's one of the top prospects we're looking forward to seeing this weekend. The Cal commit has a great physical build at 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds and he has outstanding film. This past season, he rushed for 900 yards and 11 touchdowns on 93 carries and was also used on special teams.
OL Reno Rosene, Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian:
Rosene could be one of the next best offensive linemen in California. The 2015 prospect is already 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds and recently landed an offer from Notre Dame. Rosene is hearing from numerous Pac-12 schools and there is a good chance he could start landing more offers. This will be the first time we see the rising sophomore in action and he has the opportunity to prove himself alongside many other top offensive linemen.
ATH Marquis Ware, Los Angeles (Calif.) Salesian:
Ware has impressed at numerous 7on7 tournaments this off-season at wide receiver and the 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect in the 2014 class has already landed nine offers. Memphis is the latest offer for Ware, who also has Stanford, UCLA, Texas A&M and many others on his list. Ware is a big prospect who can shield smaller cornerbacks from the ball and he catches everything thrown his way.
