Temple adds talented DE

The Temple Owls might not know what conference they'll be in over the next few years, but they know one player who will be rushing the passer for them.
"I committed to Temple this week," said Bealeton (Va.) Liberty defensive end Jeff Washington. "I visited a couple of weeks ago and loved everything about it. I always thought of it as a basketball school, but the coaches were great and showed me the new construction going on for football."

Washington, who is 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, expects to be a full qualifier by the time his senior season is over. He is also a standout basketball player, but won't play hoops at Temple. His coach, Tommy Buzzo, feels Temple is getting a terrific player.
"North Carolina was really interested as was Kentucky, Indiana, Marshall and UConn," he said. "UNC wanted him as a tight end. He's just a great athlete with very good upside. He's very quick and agile for his size."
