Tell could be close to top 10

Marvell Tell has seen a slight slowdown in his recruitment recently and it's been a nice break for the four-star safety who is planning to release a top 10 soon and he's looking to figure out his five official visits.
The Encino (Calif.) Crespi standout said nothing has been scheduled yet but he's leaning toward taking all five trips outside of California because he's already so familiar with all the schools close to home.

That opens things up especially for three programs Tell remains interested in as his recruitment continues.
"I'm just starting to narrow down my list a little bit," Tell said. "Within the next few days I'll probably come out with a top 10 and then go on from there. I just have The Opening coming up and that's pretty much it.
"I think I'll take all five of my officials. Probably all five will be out-of-state schools just because schools like USC, UCLA, I've seen, I've been around and I can go any time.
"I definitely want to see Texas A&M, I want to see Oklahoma and Notre Dame for sure. Those could be three of the official visits."
Rated as the fifth-best safety and the No. 117 prospect in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, Tell said he took an unofficial visit to USC in the last couple weeks and it went really well. More than anything, he wanted to spend additional time with the new coaching staff and all the reviews were positive.
The four-star is hopeful he can visit UCLA soon as well.
"SC is recruiting me pretty hard as well as UCLA," Tell said. "I went up to SC not too long ago, about two weeks ago, just to hang out and talk football with the coaches and just be around the campus a little bit.
"It was really good. I like SC a lot and they'll definitely be one of my top choices.
"I explained my situation to them and they're letting me do my own thing but they're also recruiting me pretty hard."
