Telemaque on the verge

Long Beach Poly (Calif.) defensive back Vaughn Telemaque is sitting on three scholarship offers right now and is prepared to make his college choice. In fact, the talented safety said he would like to make his commitment before the end of the month.
Telemaque, 6-2, 180 pounds is one of the top safety prospects we saw out West during the spring/summer evaluation period. He's a big kid with size who can run, hit and is always around the football.

North Carolina was the first school to offer Telemaque followed by Michigan and Oregon. We have no doubt several others would have followed once the season kicked off but the safety said he's ready to pull the trigger.
"Me and my teammate, Jurrell Casey are going to commit together sometime this month," Telemaque said. "I'm still not sure when or how we're doing the announcement, but we're definitely doing it this month and hopefully we can do something fun and blow it up.
"I wasn't planning to commit early originally but I really like the options I have and think I'm ready to do this. I still plan to take my official visits but when I commit, that will be it, it will be final for me."
Telemaque didn't give any hints as to where he's leaning but had good things to say about each of the schools.
"They're all good schools, that's why I'm happy with the options I have," Telemaque said. "I'm still surprised none of the in-state schools offered but that's all right. Hopefully I'll get to play against them in college and make them regret that.
"Butch Davis is a great defensive coach at UNC and they were my first offer. Michigan has Ron English and my boy Donovan Warren there and Oregon is in the Pac 10 and has recruited Poly for years."
