Telemaque comes up big in championship game

In the Pac 5 championship game this past weekend between Long Beach Poly (Calif.) and Encino (Calif.) Crespi, easily the best player on the field that night was defensive back Vaughn Telemaque.
Telemaque, a 6-2, 180 pound safety was all over the field for the Jackrabbits in leading the team to a 13-3 win over a very talented Crespi squad. The athlete had three interceptions, giving him nine on the year and had several huge hits as well throughout the game.

In a pretty deep year for safeties in the state this year, no one has played better Telemaque. He has the size, athleticism, range and toughness to be a major impact player at the next level and is just now coming in to his own as a player.
On the recruiting front, Telemaque just picked up an offer from Miami and will likely be taking an official visit there in late January.
"I don't have a date yet but I definitely want to check out Miami," Telemaque said. "Herman (Davidson) is visiting (Jan. 18) and I might be going that weekend too but it's not 100% yet. Right now, I'm just excited about winning a CIF title.
"My plan all along was to focus on our season and win that title and then turn my attention to recruiting and that's what I'm going to do. I've already visited Oregon, North Carolina and Michigan and I want to take all five if I can.
"Right now, I'm totally open to everyone. I liked all my trips a lot and I'm also high on USC as well. Those are the main schools I'm looking at and I'll probably be ready to make a commitment sometime close to Signing Day."
