Tech has Hatchers attention

Delray Beach (Fla.) Atlantic Community safety Karnell Hatcher is one of the top overall prospects in the Palm Beach County area for the Class of 2008. During this early part of the recruiting cycle, one Atlantic Coast Conference program stands out.
The talented head hunter holds two early scholarship offers and has plenty of attention from a number of other programs. He currently holds scholarship offers from Ole Miss and Arizona State.

"Florida, Ole Miss, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Michigan and Georgia Tech (are showing interest)," the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Hatcher said.
He added that the Yellow Jackets currently were standing out the most.
"It's going to be important for a place that I like," Hatcher said. "I want to play in a big city like Atlanta, Ga."
Hatcher said that he likely will visit Miami unofficially this spring.
"It's the closest," he said.
On Sunday, Hatcher attended the Rivals.com Junior Day at Northeast High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
"I thought it was nice," he said. "I learned a lot of stuff about the recruiting process that I didn't know.
Hatcher had 65 tackles, two interceptions, four fumble recoveries and blocked a field goal during the 2006 season. This followed a sophomore campaign in which he had seven interceptions. He was an All-Palm Beach County selection and a Class 5A All-State selection.
