Team To Beat For Talented DE

The best defensive end in Georgia would be a perfect fit for a lot of different teams. However, it’s a home-state school that is the team to beat for this talented pass rusher.
“Right now I like Georgia the best,” said 6-foot-4, 265-pound defensive end Richard Cook from Tignall (Ga.) Washington-Wilkes. “My cousin Antonio Mercier signed with them in February and he has some great things to say. It’s also close to home and I just know more about them than anyone else.”

The Bulldogs have offered the speedy defensive end (4.6-second 40-yard dash) and track star but others have as well.
“Maryland offered me recently and so did South Carolina,” he said. “Florida, Florida State, Tennessee have all told me I have an offer as well. I’m going to need to take some official visits to try to see them all.”
So does any team have a chance to unseat the Dawgs in this battle?
“I’m remaining open,” he said. “I like something different about all of my schools. Maryland had a great year last season, South Carolina has Lou Holtz and Florida, Florida State and Tennessee all play for a national title every year it seems. I’m going to keep an open mind.”
