TE Stevens has a change of heart

Wheaton (Ill.) South two star ranked tight end prospect Matt Stevens (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) had given the University of Toledo his early verbal commitment back in mid-October, yet things have changed sine then and Stevens has decided to recommit to Western Michigan University.
"I have decided to commit to Western Michigan University," Stevens said. "I made an official visit to Western Michigan last weekend, and I decided then that Western Michigan is the best fit for me."

Stevens talked about having to call the Toledo coaches to break his original verbal, and Stevens also talked about why he's decided to become a Bronco.
"Calling the Toledo coaches was the most nerve wracking calls I've ever had to make. They were obviously pretty upset, but I told them that I had to go where I felt most comfortable, and that place is Western Michigan. I'm going to sign my letter of intent on Wednesday to Western Michigan University."
"My official visit last weekend to Western Michigan was just incredible. It was quite a visit. I had a chance to get to know the coaches and the players better. The campus and the facilities are top notch. It was such a good visit that I really wanted to stay there for a few more days. I talked everything over with my family, and they agreed that I needed to go where I felt the most comfortable."
"I have the utmost respect for everyone at Toledo, I really do. I just need to go with my heart on this decision. In the end it's going to work out for the best for myself. I'm ecstatic about becoming a Bronco."
Stevens will join teammate Grant Nemeth in signing to Western Michigan University on National Letter of Intent Day.
