TE Sanders draws Big Ten offer

Springfield (Ill.) junior tight end prospect Jeff Sanders (6-foot-6, 235 pounds) made a weekend visit to Indiana University for a junior day event, and Sanders walked off the Bloomington campus with his first scholarship offer this winter.
"The IU coaches called me into a conference room just before the basketball game started on Saturday," Sanders said. "I had a nice talk with Coach (Terry) Hoeppner and then he told me that the Hoosiers were offering me an early scholarship."

Sanders talked about his impressions of the Hoosiers as well as landing his first offer from Indiana University.
"I was just thrilled to get my first offer from the Hoosiers on Saturday. You always hope that schools like Indiana will offer you, but I was very, very surprised. I went back to my seat at the basketball game and I told me Dad that I was still floored that the Hoosiers offered me a scholarship. It's all very exciting."
"I really just liked the coaches at Indiana. Coach Hoeppner and the rest of the assistants like Matt Canada, who's my recruiting coach are just really great guys. I also had a chance to check out the facilities as well as the campus at IU. Indiana has just a great campus setting, and the facilities are also impressive. I'm definitely excited about Indiana."
