TE Ready To Decide

Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic tight end Sam Johnson took his official visit to Syracuse this past weekend and was expected to commit to one of his favorites shortly thereafter. So is he ready to choose?
"No, I'm going to wait until our season is over," said the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder who was expected to choose between the Orangemen and Boston College. "The visit to Syracuse was good. I got to see how they used their tight ends and learn about the school. I had been there a few times, but this was better because I learned a lot more."

Did the 48-24 loss to Pitt affect his feelings about Syracuse?
"Well, it wasn't a great game and the crowd was taken out of it very early," he said. "I still had a good visit, but it wasn't like it would have been had they won."
And how does it compare to his official visit to Boston College in early September?
"BC was a really good visit because they won and everything was upbeat," he said. "Syracuse was different and it's tough to tell what it would have been if things were happier. But I got to learn about both schools, their academics and how they wanted to use me in their offense."
Despite seeing his two favorites, Johnson now wants to wait.
"If I feel ready to make a decision after the season is over, then I will," he said. "Otherwise I'll take a few more visits. Maybe to Rutgers, Pitt and Maryland."
