Rockville (Md.) Good Counsel tight end Danny Parker holds five offers from a variety of schools. Obviously coaches see something in the 6-foot-5, 235-pounder, what exactly makes him stand out?
"From what I've been told a lot of coaches are interested in his body potential and are betting on that," Good Counsel head coach Bob Milloy said. "He is a wide-bodied kid that has really taken to bulking up and hit the weight room hard in the offseason already. He also has good feet and hands probably from his basketball experience.
"We actually got Danny off of the basketball team last August and by the end of the season he was starting at tight end and defensive end for us. Right now I'd say it's pretty hard to say which position he'll play in college because he is equally good at tight end and defensive end."
Parker isn't just a solid prospect, but a good student athlete too.
"He has a 2.85 GPA and is a pretty good student," he said. "He is also a real classy kid that never gets into trouble or causes problems."
Currently the Maryland prospect holds offers from Duke, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple and Virginia. North Carolina, Michigan State, Connecticut and others are showing interest in Parker too.
Parker earned honorable mention all-state as a junior.
