TE Moeaki enjoys his latest role

Wheaton (Ill.) South four-star ranked tight end prospect Anthony Moeaki (6-foot-4, 250 pounds) knows the term deja vu very well, especially at the time of the season.
“The more I think about it, deja vu is definitely a term I'm really familiar with at this time of the year," Anthony Moeaki said. “Last season we played Naperville North in the 2nd round of the playoffs, and we get to face them again in the 2nd round this week. I just hope we have the same outcome as we had at this time of the year last year."

Moeaki has also added what seems like a yearly playoff responsibility.
"I saw some playing time last week at fullback in our offense in our win over Glenbard North. I also saw playing time at fullback last year in the playoffs as well. Coach (Ron Muhitch) really didn't say anything to me about playing fullback at all last week, but then he decided to put me in on some series. I played both tight end and fullback last Friday."
"Playing fullback is pretty fun in our offense. I didn't get any carries last week, but it's fun to get a three yard head start to get to the line and block someone. I like being able to get a chance to help out our team in anyway that I can, and as long as we win in the playoffs, I'll do whatever the coaches ask me to do."
"The state playoffs is no question the best time of the year. I just love the atmosphere of the playoff games, it's just a special feeling that you can't get during the regular season. I love how tough all of the competition is with each round. It's just a great time of the year to be still playing high school football."
Moeaki and the Tigers will face it's second consecutive DuPage Valley conference team this week in the Class 8A state playoffs when the Tigers travel to Naperville North on Saturday. Wheaton South could potentially play three conference foes in the first three rounds of the playoffs. Does Moeaki like getting to face teams that he's already played this season?
"I know that a lot of people aren't very happy with the playoff system, but I personally like playing against teams again from our conference. I'm a big believer that our conference is one of the best in Class 8A if not the state, and I figure that we'll need to see some of our conference teams in the playoffs anyways. We might as well play them early and get it over with. I'm really excited to play Naperville North again this year. I'm expecting another good game at North this week."
Moeaki gives us the latest on his recruiting.
"I've taken official visits now to BYU and Tennessee, and I'm schedule to take an official visits to Iowa on December 10th. I'm going to decide on setting two more visits soon between Notre Dame, Oregon and Nebraska as well as a few other schools that I'm considering. That's all on the backburner for now until my senior season is over with, hopefully in 4 more weeks from now."
