TE McAvoy lands a Big Ten offer

Bloomington, Ill. tight end prospect Tim McAvoy (6-foot-6, 260 pounds) has been making some seriously good impressions so far this spring on the college camp circuit, and McAvoy has added his first Big Ten scholarship offer on Sunday night.
"I went to a one-day camp last Friday at Wisconsin," Tim McAvoy said. "I thought I had a pretty good camp, and the coaches wanted me to call them on Sunday night. I called the coaches and Wisconsin has offered me a scholarship."

McAvoy talked about his latest offer from the Badgers as well as his impressions of Madison.
"I'm very excited about getting an offer from Wisconsin. The coaches seemed very happy with my camp performance. I was able to check out the campus, which is really just beautiful. I also got a tour of Camp Randall stadium, and they are really doing several renovations and it's a great facility."
McAvoy also camped at Northwestern University this summer and also came away impressed with the Wildcats.
"My camp at Northwestern went pretty well. It was a senior invite camp, so we had about 40-50 guys only, so we were able to have a lot of personal time and one-on-one work with the coaches at the camp. I worked mostly at tight end, but towards the end of the camp I did work with the offensive linemen. The camp was really fun."
McAvoy is also planning to wind up his summer camp tour this week.
"I'm going to camp at Michigan and Ohio State this week for one-day camps, and then I think I'm done with the college camps for the summer. I might add one camp, but for now I'm planning to wrap up the camps soon."
Tim McAvoy has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois and Wisconsin.
