TE makes his pick

The commitment by Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic tight end Sam Johnson has one team very excited. So who did the standout choose?
"I'm really happy with my choice," said Sam, who committed to Rutgers over offers from Boston College, Syracuse, Pitt and others. "It came down to Rutgers and BC, but I just felt more comfortable being around my home state. The coaches are great and all the players are like a big New Jersey family."

Sam had taken official visits Syracuse and Boston College before his last visit on Dec. 13 at Rutgers.
"The visit to Rutgers did it, I'm happy I decided to visit there one more time. I just really believe that they can turn things around and that they are going get it done."
The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder plays for one of the top programs in the state of New Jersey and is a huge pickup for Rutgers.
