TE Lubischers stock soaring

Tight end John Lubischer out of Boca Raton, Fla. made such an impressive appearance at the Elite College Combine, that three schools have made verbal offers to the 6-foot-4, 250-pounder and told him to check his mailbox for the written tender soon. What schools are showing the most interest and who does Lubischer like the best?
Lubischer claims three verbals from Rutgers, Ole Miss and Minnesota. What does he think of each of those schools?

"I'm from New Jersey, so Rutgers would be great to go back home and play and have my family come to all my games. I've always been a fan of Rutgers so I'm definitely interested in them. They are on my top five list right now," he said. "Ole Miss is exciting because it's in the SEC and that's big-time football. I hear that it's a great college town and I'd definitely consider it. I have a couple of friends that headed there for college.
"Minnesota saw me at the combine and contacted my coach. My grandfather is friends with the head coach and it'd be a great place; it's a Big Ten school and a good team. I also like what they do with their tight ends."
Lubischer obviously made an impact at the Elite. What did he think of the event and how did he feel he performed?
"It was a great experience and I've never seen anything like it with all the college coaches. It was run very well and organized. I think it's a great opportunity for me to show myself against the best in the country," said Lubischer, whose uncle Nick Lubischer helped select the players for the Elite and also played college football at Boston College. "I feel that I was the best tight end there. I caught everything that came my way and I think I did well in the one on ones."
What did Lubischer show scouts of his skills?
"I think I showed them that I can move around," he said. "I'm very athletic and I'm not just a blocking tight end, I have hands too."
With the evaluation period in full swing, Lubischer said that approximately 40 coaches have stopped by Boca Raton. The tight end has also received a call from Ole Miss that impressed him.
"They said that they're most likely going to offer me really soon," he said. "Their head coach will be coming the last week of May and will hopefully offer. They just told me about their school and that they are in dire need of tight ends. They are probably going to sign three and they need one to come in and play right away. They said they really are looking for a big, physical tight end and I think I'd fit in well there."
Who is the tight end favoring at this point in the process?
"My top schools are definitely Boston College, Miami, Duke, Rutgers and North Carolina," he said. "First of all, Boston College is where my uncles went to school and I've always been a fan of them. Miami is just a football machine and it's where I live now. It's also a great opportunity for the next level. I'm from New Jersey and I have family up near Rutgers. I like Duke because the academics are incredible and they were my first written offer. Finally, North Carolina because it's got a beautiful campus and I love what they do with their tight ends, the coaching staff there is really good."
As for a decision, Lubischer looks to be making it in the next couple of months.
"I plan on making my decision sometime around July or early August," he said. "I definitely want to make it before the season starts and I think I'll know who's really interested in me by then."
Lubischer is working to get even better fro next season.
"I have spring football practice every day and I'm working hard lifting, running and doing speed work," he said. "I definitely want to have a lot more catches, I'm expecting around 30 catches next year. I transferred into a new school over break and the quarterback is great and the offense is based around the tight end."
This summer the prospect is looking at attending camps at Rutgers, Florida, Miami, Florida State and maybe North Carolina and Pittsburgh.
Lubischer was named honorable mention all-Broward County as a sophomore.
