Two games into his senior season, Boca Raton, Fla. tight end John Lubischer had only caught one pass for the 2-1 Bobcats, but game number three was altogether different.
"We really hadn't thrown the ball to much the first two games. I did have one catch in our second game."
In his team's most recent win, Lubischer had the breakout game he's been waiting for as he helped his team take control of the game with his second catch of the season as he galloped 24 yards for his team's first touchdown of the game.
Lubischer carried the team on his back the rest of the game as he had five catches for 75 yards and made crucial blocks for the running game. He also had some big defensive plays from his defensive-end position, including two sacks and a 10-yard interception for a touchdown.
"I'll be sending out this film to a bunch of schools, said the 6-4, 250-pounder. "My phone has been ringing pretty much every night. Schools are requesting tape, so my coach will be sending it out."
So what schools are showing heavy interest?
"Well, I just received two new offers this week, Northwestern and Central Florida, Northwestern offered me as a defensive end. Right now I have offers from NC State, Duke, Ol Miss, Northwestern and UCF. I also recently spoke with Minnesota, Clemson, South Carolina and Colorado State, they all asked to get a copy of the tape."
Does Lubischer have a leader?
"Well the schools that offered are my leaders. Last night, Minnesota talked to me about coming for an official visit, but I won't visit any school without an offer first. They told me I should be getting one from them soon. I'm also still interested in Boston College and a few others, but until a school offers, it's tough to have them on my favorites list."
Lubischer is hoping to get his official visits set up soon.
