FONTANA, Calif. - Jude Wolfe has seen his recruitment go national in the last few weeks but it’s basically Pac-12 schools that have captured his attention so far.

Kansas, Pitt, South Carolina, Illinois, TCU, Nebraska and Minnesota have offered the three-star tight end from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco recently to add to an ever-growing list.

“A little surprised,” Wolfe said at the Passing Down Inland Empire Elite 7v7 Regional this past weekend. “I thought from the beginning I was more of a West Coast guy and then my recruitment picked up.

“Coaches stopped by the past couple weeks and they got a look at me and it took off from there.”

So far, USC, Washington, Oregon and Notre Dame stand out to Wolfe, a 6-foot-6, 247-pound recruit and it’s mainly because he has a better feel for those coaching staffs.

“I’ve gotten to know all of their tight ends coaches pretty well and bonded with them a lot, meeting them at camps and then camping at their schools,” Wolfe said. “I took an unofficial to USC for their junior day.

“I got along really well with them, coach (Marcus) Arroyo from Oregon and coach (Jordan) Paopao from Washington stopped by and furthering my recruitment with them, I like where it’s headed.”

As for visits, Wolfe said he’s working on a trip to Georgia and he’s hopeful a visit to Michigan could happen soon. Asked if he feels like he’ll end up in the Pac-12, Wolfe said he was not certain especially since he hasn’t taken many visits outside the region yet.

“I honestly couldn’t tell you because I haven’t really seen much besides Notre Dame,” Wolfe said.
