TE Hiben draws three more offers

Chaska, (Minn.) tight end prospect Joey Hiben (6-foot-5, 235 pounds) from Waconia High School has seen his recruiting stock soar over the last few weeks. Hiben has now added three additional scholarship offers over the last week.
"Things have been going very, very well," Joey Hiben said. "I've received written scholarship offers from Boston College, Texas Tech and Colorado over the last week. The University of Michigan coaches have already been in school, and the Minnesota coaches are scheduled to be in school tomorrow."

So what are Hiben's thoughts on his latest suitors? "I don't know a lot about Boston College, except that they play in the Big East conference and that they play very good football as well as offering a very good education as well. I know that Texas Tech loves to throw the ball, and that the tight end caught something like 80 passes last year. Colorado is another program that I need to check out, and I'm aware of the issues that were going on with the football program, but I'll also give them some serious consideration along with the rest of the schools that have made me an offer."
Excuse Joey Hiben if he seems less than on top of things from a football recruiting standpoint, since he's in the middle of his track season. "The offers are great, and I'm very thankful for all of the attention that I've been getting. Anyone that knows me knows that I take the track season very seriously, and my focus right now is on school and track. I'm definitely going to focus more on recruiting after my track season is over with, and it's great that I have so many options so early. This summer I'm going to narrow things down, and then I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling to different schools this summer."
Hiben now has scholarship offers from Purdue, Stanford, Missouri, Northwestern, Boston College, Texas Tech and Colorado.
