TE Hiben awaits Fighting Irish decision

Chaska, (Minn.) tight end prospect Joey Hiben (6-foot-5, 235 pounds) from Waconia High School finished his summer college football camp tour last week at the University of Notre Dame, and Hiben talks about his camp experience in South Bend and more.
"I finished my summer camp at Notre Dame last week," Joey Hiben said. "I was really happy with my performance at Notre Dame, and I feel that I finished my college camp on a strong note."

Hiben went into details about the Notre Dame camp.
"The Notre Dame camp was a no pads camp, so I was able to do a lot of testing and drill work. I really enjoyed the overall camp experience as well as the interaction with the coaches at the camp. I thought that I was able to really show what I could do in several one-on-one drills, and the Notre Dame coaches said that I really performed well."
"I talked with the coaches after the camp, and they want me to call them later this week. Coach (Greg) Mattison told me to be patient with them, so that's what I'm going to do for now. I know that Notre Dame has already offered one tight end, and that they said that I would be next on the list. I really like Notre Dame, and they remain one of my favorites no question."
Hiben also has started to think about narrowing down his favorite schools.
"I've been busy over the last few weeks with AAU basketball, but I have been thinking about which schools I'm going to get serious with this fall. Notre Dame is one of my favorites, and I also really like Stanford as well as Minnesota, Purdue and Boston College. I haven't set any favorites list but those are some of the schools that I'm giving some serious thought towards for now."
Hiben might also try to squeeze one more unofficial visit in before the end of the summer.
"between basketball and getting ready for my senior season, I'm afraid that I might run out of time soon. I'm going to try and take an unofficial visit up to the U (University of Minnesota) just to check out the facilities later this summer, but I haven't planning anything just yet."
Joey Hiben has scholarship offers from Minnesota, Central Florida, Kansas, Indiana, Colorado State, Colorado, Purdue, Stanford, Missouri, Northwestern, Boston College, Texas Tech and Colorado.
