TE Eyers starts to visit schools

Dunn (N.C.) Midway tight end Clark Eyers is picking up college interest from across the Southeast. The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder hasn't landed a scholarship yet, but is taking visits to schools.
"I've talked to just about everyone," he said. "I was at North Carolina on Saturday for junior day. I've gotten a lot of film sent out.

"I'm getting interest from Duke, NC State, Clemson, Kentucky, Memphis, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee a bit and Wake Forest."
Obviously the most recent trip for Eyers was North Carolina this past weekend and he gave his take.
"It was pretty nice," he said. "They told me to send my film again and I talked to them a lot. They talked to me about coming to practices too."
Eyers has mentioned the possibility of trips to Georgia and Kentucky too this spring.
College interest is growing fast, and Eyers maintains no favorites at this time.
"Nowhere stands out too much, it's an even field," he said. "I used to be a North Carolina fan, but once recruiting started I'm not a fan of anywhere.
"I'm looking at a good sports program and good academics. I've got a 3.75 GPA, but I haven't decided on what I want to study. I like science though."
Meanwhile, location isn't a big factor for Eyers.
"I was born in Dallas, Texas, I moved from there to Tampa till ninth grade and have lived here," he said. "My home is here with my dad, but my mom still lives in Florida."
Eyers posted a strong season this past year for Midway, though he didn't earn any awards.
"I had a pretty good season, we had a new coach this was his first year," he said. "We didn't pass the ball too much, but I led the team in receptions."
