TE Cruz chooses ACC

Johnstown (Pa.) Bishop McCort tight end Jose Cruz has made a decision on which college he will attend. So where will the 6-foot-5, 240-pounder play his college ball?
"I wanted to make a decision if I could before the season started and I loved UNC when I was there at camp," he said. "It just seemed like a good fit and a place where I can catch the ball and make an impact."

Cruz, who chose UNC over offers from Indiana, Boston College and Akron, hopes to put on some more weight before heading off to school.
"I weighed in at 225 at the NIKE Camp at PSU but I've gained around 15 more pounds since then," he said. "I'm trying to get stronger and bulk up a bit because UNC wants me to play in the 260-270 range if possible. Once I focus only on football, the weight will come."
Cruz is a talented basketball player as well but will focus only on football in college.
"I'm excited about it," he said. "I liked the coaches down there and UNC is a great school."
