Paterson (N.J.) Paterson Catholic tight end Dante Burton is taking things slow. The 6-foot-2, 215-pounder holds nearly a half dozen offers, but still claims no leaders.
"Everything has been going smooth," he said. "I haven't taken any visits this summer.
"I still have five offers from Cincinnati, Tennessee, Syracuse, East Carolina and Maryland. Miami and Pittsburgh made verbal offers, but I've not gotten the papers yet. They seem pretty excited about me."
Is Burton looking to take any visits before the season is up?
"Probably not, I'll probably wait until officials roll around. I'm going to visit most of the schools that have offered."
Does Burton like anyone?
"Not really, I haven't been to any of the schools," he said. "Based on name alone though I'd have to say Tennessee because it's big football.
"I'm looking at everybody. I'm looking for a college with good academics and a place where it just feels right. I want somewhere I can see myself for the next four or five years. I'm looking at business communications or business marketing. Right now though I'm not too concerned with recruiting. My focus is on my team and getting a championship this year."
